Laser gum disease treatment is just what it sounds like; it uses specialized types of light to kill harmful bacteria, remove diseased tissue, and promote healing within the mouth. There are a number of different approaches to laser gum disease treatment. One outstanding example is the Laser-Assisted New Attachment Procedure (LANAP).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In LANAP, a special laser, called the PerioLase MVP-7, is inserted into the pocket between the teeth and gums. Using a tiny fiber (about the width of three human hairs), it clears away diseased tissue and bacteria.
